5 People Injured in Explosion at French nuclear plant

ARRAHMAHNEWS.COM, PARIS - An explosion has occurred at Flamanville Nuclear Power Plant, in northwestern France. Some officers told this to the local media, adding that several people suffered minor injuries after inhaling smoke, although there is no risk of a nuclear accident.

    
"The incident occurred at 9:45 local time (08:45 GMT) in the engine room," said the Electricite de France (EDF) in a statement. №1 Reactor power on it "cut off automatically" after the flames appeared in the engine room at the non-nuclear facilities. This is not a nuclear accident, "the senior official said Jacques Witkowski local area told AFP. "Now it is finished, the rescue team has gone," said Witkowski. As known, the nuclear reactor power plant has been working since 1985 and 1986 and has produced 1,300 megawatts of electricity.
